Committed to bringing construction jobs into the neighborhoods, the Market Creek Plaza Construction Collaboration surpassed its goal by having 69% of the work on the Plaza completed by minority and women-owned businesses. The MultiCultural Contractors Group (MCCG), WORC Foundation, Latino Builders, and FOCUS Project worked together to design a process to recruit, train, and hire laborers and contractors. One component, the Mentor-Protege Program created by MCCG, helped build the business skills of small contractors through advocacy, training, and lines of credit. Participants are now successfully bidding for and completing work on projects inside and outside the Diamond. Latest Accomplishment Mentor-Protege Contractor Development ![]() |
